Lemon Butter Halibut

Ingredients:

  • 1 lbs halibut

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 lemons, 1 juiced ( 2 tbsp, divided) & the other sliced 

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp paprika

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Pat halibut dry with paper towels. Brush with 1 tbsp lemon juice and sprinkle garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper on top. Use the back of a spoon to press the spices into the fish.

  3. In an oven safe pan, melt butter on medium heat. Add halibut skin side up and sear for 4-6 minutes (you want a nice sear!). Flip, add additional 1 tbsp of lemon juice over top the fish, and cook for another 4-6 minutes.

  4. Place lemon slice on top and Transfer the pan to the oven for 11-15 minutes (depending on thickness) or until done. Squeeze the lemon slices over the fish before eating.
